This post is inspired from a discussion I had with my dad. I am not sure how it started but it ended as all my conversations that I'm passionate about go, it ends up becoming a mini lecture. I talked about how the movie version depiction of the monster was so different from the book.
[Spoilers Ahead if you have not read Mary Shelley's Frankenstein]
In the movie, Frankenstein's monster is this large, unknowingly green monster of a man with bolts sticking out of the side of his head. And those bolts are used to electrify the creature to life. I know that Frankenstein is Science Fiction but that logic seems rather silly.
Meanwhile in the novel, Frankenstein's monster is beautiful with jaundice skin, golden hair and eyes if I recall correctly. Unlike the movie depiction, the monster had a vast growing intelligence from the family he stayed with (technically he hid out of the way but in close enough proximity where he could learn language).
I know that the movie version of Frankenstein's monster appearance is more well known but I hope that more people read the original material as it is a really good story and also this work of Science Fiction was written by Mary Shelley who started Science Fiction as we know it.
//I know getting to this post took a while but I hope you enjoy it. I might try to keep doing these when I can. Have a good day reader
